We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women, youth, seniors, and veterans through fishing, outdoor education, and meaningful connection.

Black Girls Fish 2

A powerful initiative, inspiring, educating and uplifting Black Women and girls of all ages by introducing them to the joy, confidence, and healing found through fishing and outdoor exploration.

Hooked In The South

Hooked in the South is a social outdoor club that brings together individuals across the Southern states to enjoy fishing, fellowship, and fun while building lasting connections through shared outdoor adventures.

Black Women Fly Fish 2

Black Women Fly Fish 2 is a groundbreaking movement dedicated to introducing, educating, and celebrating Black women in the sport of fly fishing while creating a supportive and inclusive space on and off the water.

About Our Founder

Yolanda J. Edwards is the visionary founder of Remain Hooked Outdoors, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to reconnecting Black women, youth, seniors, and veterans to the healing power of the outdoors through fishing, education, and community engagement.

A proud Army veteran with 25 years of honorable service (1983–2007), Yolanda brings discipline, heart, and a deep sense of purpose to every endeavor she leads. Raised in Cleveland,
Ohio by a single mother who taught her to fish at the age of five, Yolanda’s outdoor journey began as a family tradition and evolved into a mission rooted in healing, empowerment, and
legacy.
