IMPACT & CONNECTION

Making a Difference For the Black Community is My Calling

At Remain Hooked Outdoors, our mission is to empower and uplift underrepresented voices—particularly Black women, youth, veterans, and seniors—by creating accessible opportunities to engage with the outdoors through fishing, education, and connection.

For me, this isn’t just an organization—it’s a deeply personal calling. I grew up learning the value of nature from my mother and grandmother, who taught me how to fish and passed down more than just skills; they passed down a legacy of strength, peace, and resilience. Today, I carry that legacy forward with a purpose: to ensure others who look like me feel welcomed, valued, and safe in spaces that have too often overlooked us.
Making a difference in the outdoor industry means challenging stereotypes, opening doors, and giving our communities the tools, confidence, and community to thrive. Whether it’s casting a line, walking a trail, or finding stillness by the water, we believe the outdoors is for everyone—and we’re here to prove it.
